Seattle Storm


The professional basketball championship was won for the city of Seattle in 2004 for the first time since 1979 by the Seattle based women's basketball team of the Seattle Storm. This team was registered with the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) in the year 2000. Like their brother team Seattle Supersonics, Seattle Storm is also owned by Professional Basketball Club LLC. Doppler is the mascot of Seattle Storm and the team colors of the team are red, dark green and gold. Since its foundation in 2000, Seattle Storm has been a member of Western Conference. KeyArena is the home arena of Seattle Storm and the team management has decided to play their 2008 season in this arena.

The head coach of Seattle Storm for the session of 2007-2008 is Anne Donovan. She has played
a key role in the triumph of Seattle Storm in WNBA Championship and Conference Title in 2004. The other players of Seattle Storm to play a pivotal role in this triumph include Sue Bird, Lauren Jackson. The women players of the team are brought not solely from US but from other foreign nations like Australia, Brazil. Few of the other major players of the team include Iziane Castro Marquez, Janell Burse, Katie Gearlds, Wendy Palmer.

The Seattle Storm organizes many college tours to popularize the game of basketball among the young ladies of US and also to search for the potential players. Many of the players of Seattle Storm come from the college teams. Few events are also organized by the team authorities to popularize the game among the kids. The games of Seattle Storm are attended by a huge number of fans belonging to all age groups.
