South Lake Union Street Car is the new public transit system in Seattle connecting the Emerald city to downtown Seattle. Streetcars are transport vehicles, which run on rails yet share the public road with other ground transportation means like bicycles, cars, monorail and buses. The main objectives of South Lake Union Streetcar are to provide extensive local transit service, open job vacancies, connect the regional transit system, encourage the economic prosperity of the city and create urban neighborhoods by developing routes in the interiors. The Seattle streetcar vehicles carry up to 140 passengers. They are air-conditioned and easily accessible. The Streetcar only halts for passengers who would get down or waiting at the stations. The Seattle Streetcar is available at 15 minute intervals from 6 AM – 9 PM (Monday-Thursday) and 6 AM – 11 PM (Friday and Saturday).
