Shopping in Seattle

Seattle is a shopper’s paradise with a variety of shops selling everything from brand name merchandise to more economical items. There are excellent shops all over the city including downtown, Queen Anne, First Hill, the International District, the University District, Fremont and Pike Place. Some of the major shopping centers of Seattle are Westlake Center at 400 Pine Street, Rainier Square 411 Union Street, Pacific Place at 600 Pine Street, City Center at 1420 5th Avenue and Pike Place Market 85 Pike.

Downtown Seattle is a perfect destination for shoppers who want to buy branded garments and accessories. There are several blocks of shopping areas at Downtown Seattle where show rooms of brand names like Gap, Urban Outfitters and Nordstrom are located. The Westlake Center Plaza and Pacific Place are two large malls sprawling over a huge area with numerous shops and restaurants. Shoppers interested in eclectic and trendy clothes, can visit the fashion boutiques Betsy Johnson and Isadora's Antique Clothing in downtown Seattle.
The International District is another interesting destination for shoppers of Seattle. The market place is stacked with articles from various Asian countries like China, Philippines, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore among others. The market place of International District houses numerous cafes, restaurants and shops that reflect different ethnic tastes. Uwajimaya is one of the major attractions of the area, which is an Asian food and products shop selling thousands of varieties of seafood, pulses, fresh vegetables, spices and specialty candies. Some of the popular shops are Chinatown Market, Golden Star Deli Mart, Kinokuniya Bookstore, Lena's Jewlery & Loan, Yick Fung and Co aka Blue Funnel Line, Asian Domestic Grocery and Uwajimaya Gift Shop.
