Seattle Mariners


The Seattle based professional baseball team of Seattle Mariners was established in the year of 1977. Since its foundation, it has been the member of American league's Western Division. Since 1999, the ballpark of Seattle Mariners is Safeco Field. The Seattle Mariners has thrice won the West Division titles. The year of 2001 proved to be the most successful year for the team. It had recorded 116 wins in that single season. Mariner Moose is the official mascot of Seattle Mariners. Metallic silver, teal and navy blue comprise the team colors of Seattle Mariners.

Seattle Mariners is affiliated to a number of minor leagues. These minor leagues include Venezuelan Summer League, Northwest League, California League, Pacific Coast League, Midwest League, Southern League, Arizona League.

For the season of 2007-2008, the responsibility of the coaching of Seattle Mariners is held by Eddie Rodriguez (first base), Norm Charlton (bullpen),
Sam Perlozzo (third base), Jeff Pentland (hitting), Mel Stottlemyre (pitching), Jim Riggleman (bench). The players of Seattle Mariners come not only from US but from the foreign nations like Netherlands Antilles, Japan, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Republic of China, South Korea, Australia. The designated hitter of Seattle Mariners for the 2007-2008 season is Jose Vidro from Puerto Rico. Few of the other players for this season helping the team to put up a decent show include Kenji Johjima, Jamie Burke, Yung Chi Chen, Adrian Beltre, Charlton Jimerson, Ichiro Suzuki, Cesar Jimenez, John Huber.

To attract the fans the concerned authorities of Seattle Mariners organize a number of events in and outside Seattle. They also promote the game of baseball among the kids. Many apparels are also sold to the fans by the concerned authorities through their registered website. These are done to increase the fan following of the team.
