Seattle International Children's Festival is the biggest performing arts event held in the USA, for both youngsters and their families. It is through the medium of performing arts, that diverse world cultures are celebrated in the festival. The aim of Seattle International Children's Festival is to educate and entertain kids and families in the entire region of the Pacific Northwest, by providing a range of cultural experiences.
History of Seattle International Children's Festival
SICF or Seattle International Children’s Festival was established in 1986 by the Seattle Center. It also served as the foundation of 'Seattle Is A Kids' Place' campaign by the then Mayor Royer. In 1991 SICF became a non profit and independent organization.
During the 2006 Seattle International Children's

Festival, the audience comprised people from 20 counties, 266 schools in Washington State, 65 school districts and a returning school from Portland in Oregon. Generally the annual audience of SICF exceeds 33,000 students, families and teachers.
Performers from different countries like Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Chad, England, France, Germany, India,Iraq, Ireland, Mexico, Morocco, Republic of Guinea, Scotland, South Asia, South Africa, Spain and Switzerland have participated in the International Children's Festival in Seattle.
The activities and events of Seattle International Children's Festival showcase different musical styles, folk dances, acrobatic shows and songs in different languages. People also enjoy the delicious food available in this festival.
The next Seattle International Children’s Festival is slated to take place between 12 and 17 May in 2008.
