Vancouver, British Columbia, Eugene-Springfield, Oregon are connected to the city by the Cascades service. The network of roads is very well developed. I-5 towards north and south, and I-90 from the east are the principal driving routes to Seattle.

The population is composed of various ethnic groups like African American, Caucasian, Latino, Asian and Native American. The literacy rate of Seattle is 97%. The primary language spoken in the city is English and the secondary language is Spanish. Out of the total population 56% are Protestant, 2% are Jewish, 28% are Roman Catholic and 1% are Muslims.
