The Seattle Community Colleges district is a cluster of community colleges in Seattle, Washington. These colleges were set up to impart vocational and technical education especially for veterans who never had the opportunity of finish regular school.

Together the Seattle Community Colleges form the second largest institution of higher education in Seattle.

The history of Seattle Community Colleges dates back to 1902. the Broadway High School was opened in the Capitol Hill and it functioned as a traditional high school until the end of World War II. After that it was converted into a vocational school for adult education. In the year 1946, this school was renamed as Edison Technical School. It was named as Seattle Community College in 1966, and started offering college level courses.

The North Seattle Community College located in the North Gate Area, was established in 1970. Accredited by the Northwest Commission of Colleges it is a member of the Seattle Community College district. The impressive institution building is set in a sprawling 62 acres of greenery.

Seattle Central Community College is conveniently poised on top of Capitol Hill, in the heart of the city. This community college is accredited to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Students graduating from this college get absorbed into various jobs like high tech, maritime, software and design. Students from different cultural backgrounds come to this college to enrich themselves. Similarly, the South Seattle Community College is a renowned college offering a broad spectrum of courses for its students, be it on computers or on astrology. The curriculum of these colleges are reshaped and reinvented with the changing times, to suit the needs of the parents.
