The Seattle Community Colleges district is a cluster of community colleges in Seattle, Washington. These colleges were set up to impart vocational and technical education especially for veterans who never had the opportunity of finish regular school.
The history of Seattle Community Colleges dates back to 1902. the Broadway High School was opened in the Capitol Hill and it functioned as a traditional high school until the end of World War II. After that it was converted into a vocational school for adult education. In the year 1946, this school was renamed as Edison Technical School. It was named as Seattle Community College in 1966, and started offering college level courses.

Seattle Central Community College is conveniently poised on top of Capitol Hill, in the heart of the city. This community college is accredited to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
