Seattle Colleges are prestigious institutes engaged in imparting higher education. Seattle Colleges are all under Seattle University. The University was founded in 1891, by the Society of Jesus as the School of the Immaculate Conception it was known as Jesuit Catholic University. . Today it ranks as one of the top 10 universities in the West and has been awarded Best Colleges 2007. The college is also a member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.

The Albers School of Business and Economics was started in 1945. It is named after Genevieve Albers, who donated funds to create scholarships. The

business school now, runs a MBA program, which is the largest nationally accredited management program for working people in the whole of Pacific Northwest. The School of Law was also started in the year 1972. Initially, it was a part of the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. After 21 years it was transferred under the Seattle University.
The Seattle Community Colleges deserve a special mention. They were set up with the motive of imparting education to the veterans and seniors who failed to complete their education. These colleges usually impart vocational and technical education to the students. The different community colleges in Seattle are North Seattle Community College, South Seattle Community College and Seattle Central Community College.
Around 7,500 students enrolled in Seattle Colleges are pursuing undergraduate and graduate programs. Colleges of Seattle has been bestowed the award of 'Best Colleges 2008'.
