Important Festivals: The Fleet Week is an important festival of San Diego. Each October, this festival is held to honor the military personnel of the city. Activities include a “Salute to the Military,” the Sea & Air Parade of ships and planes, surface ship tours, and the MCAS Miramar Air Show.

Customs and Traditions: Each July, the San Diego Over-the-Line tournament is held in Mission Bay. This one of a kind “beach softball” event started in 1953 and is known for its boisterousness and anything-goes code of conduct. With the passing years, it has mellowed somewhat. But, it is still an enjoyable event to take part in for the more fun-loving people.
