Tourist Attractions: Some of the famous tourist attractions of San Diego are San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, SeaWorld, and Gaslamp Quarter. The San Diego Zoo is no ordinary zoo. This world famous zoo houses 4,000 rare and exotic animals, which are kept in replicas of their natural habitats. The San Diego Zoo is also a major animal research facility. Entertaining shows for kids, such as the Polar Bear Plunge and Hippo Beach, are held daily in the zoo.

Museums: Some museums in San Diego are the Balboa Park, Spanish Village Art Center, and Aircraft Carrier Museum. The Balboa Park is a huge 1,200-acre city park that was built in the year 1915. In the park are located the world-renowned San Diego Zoo, 14 museums, a pipe organ pavilion, botanical gardens, an antique carousel, and a miniature train. A popular event that is held every year in the first week of December in the park is the Christmas on the Prado.

Amusement Parks: The main amusement parks of San Diego are SeaWorld Adventure Park, Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, Wave House at Belmont Park, and San Diego Family Fun Centers.
The SeaWorld Adventure Park in San Diego features lots of exciting rides. A main attraction of the park is Shamu, the killer whale. There are lots of other sea creatures, including sea mantees, polar bears, and dolphins. You can even take a behind-the-scenes tour of the park.

Beaches: San Diego has some of the best beaches in the United States. San Diego has over 70 miles of sandy coastline and is blessed with warm, clear waters. It also has some of the best surf spots in the world. Besides the oceanfront beaches, San Diego also has Mission Bay, a massive inland bay and a prime spot for water-skiing and windsurfing. The Coronado Beach, has been voted America's best beach by the Travel Channel.

Outdoor Activities: There are many outdoor sports that you can take part in San Diego. For instance, if you love hiking, then there are several trails that you can hike on. The Barker Valley consists of two different trails two-and-a-half miles long. Both the trails reach a height of 5,700 feet. While hiking on the trails, you may come across small seasonal streams.
