Visa Services: If you are going to the US for tourism, but want to take a short course of less than 18 hours per week, you are allowed to do so on a visitor visa. If your course of study is more than 18 hours per week, you will require a student visa. June, July, and August are the busiest months in most consulates, and interview appointments are most difficult to get during those months.

Immigration Services: The US government holds a Green Card Lottery every year to allow individuals, who might not otherwise qualify, to apply for immigrant visas. An immigrant visa is just another name for a Green Card or permanent resident status.
Apart from the basic requirements concerning your country of birth, your school education, or work experience, there are no other considerations for applying for the lottery.
