Rockford is a city in the U.S state of Illinois. It was first settled in 1834-1835 and was incorporated as a village in 1839. Rockford was chartered as a city in 1852. By 1860, it started developing into an important industrial center. Furniture and Agriculture was the main production of the city. After the Great Depression and the World War II, the city both the industries disappeared from the city and other industries expanded. Later, it became the county seat of Winnebago County. It is now the third largest city in Illinois.
