The University of Portland started in 1901 with the sole intention of educating the students about values of life along with the regular curriculum. The University has grown from strength to strength and now the University boasts of 3,200 students and 280 Professors. It is a Catholic University and has proudly received its affiliation from Congregation of Holy Cross.
The University of Portland has five undergraduate schools and the Graduate Schools has 11 programs. There are 1,100 courses and 11 graduate programs offered by the University.
College of Arts and Sciences:
The College of Arts and Sciences have many options like it offers 22 majors and 20 minors in various subjects. The College offers Degree Programs, Graduate Programs and Honors Programs in subjects like Biology, English, Communication Studies, Foreign Languages, History, Performing and Fine Arts, Social Justice Programs.
Pamplin School of Business Administration:
The School is known to foster the entrepreneurship quality of the students along with the curriculum. The Programs in the School are generally divided into Undergraduate Curriculum, E-Scholars Program, Common Business Curriculum, Major Programs, Minor Programs, and MBA Programs. Some of the courses that are offered by the School are Entrepreneurial Marketing, Business Environment of Entrepreneurship, Business Finance, Managerial Accounting, Statistics for Business, Legal and Social Responsibilities of Business etc. The students of this School are offered scholarships like Pamplin Graduate Fellowships and McGowan Scholarships depending on the GMAT scores.

Students who have performed exceedingly well in three or four consecutive semesters are awarded these scholarships.
The School of Education, School of Engineering and School of Nursing also offers Undergraduate and Graduate courses.
The Wilson W. Clark Memorial Library is the perfect resource centre which helps the students with books, databases, e-journals. Ample research materials are available to the students who are pursuing research projects in University of Portland. The campus is fully equipped with a Center for Entrepreneurship, Health Center and Writing Resource Center to help the students. Some of the clubs on the campus which encourage participation from the students are American Chemical Society, Beta Beta Beta, English Society, Black Student Union, Vietnamese Student Association, Utah Club etc. These clubs help to maintain the vibrant cultural life of Portland University. Even the international students are given warm welcome during the Orientation Program.
Accommodation facilities are available for both the in-house and the international students. The students can stay at the various residence halls that are scattered around the campus. Some of them are Christie Hall, Corrado Hall, Haggerty Hall, Kenna Hall, Mehling Hall, and Tyson Hall etc.
The University of Portland offers $ 60 million as financial assistance to the students. The financial package may range from a few thousand dollars to $35,000.
