raise the levels of educational achievement in the District. 3 of the SRC members are appointed by the Governor of Pennsylvania and the other 2 are appointed by the Mayor of Philadelphia.
To fascilitate easy management the School District of Philadelphia is divided into ten different regions. Each region is placed under the guidance of a Regional Superintendent.
