Penn's Landing is the spectacular waterfront area in the Philadelphia Center City, just beside the Delaware River section of Philadelphia. The area is named after the founder of Pennsylvania - William Penn, who first docked here in 1682. Penn's Landing is surrounded by the Delaware River in the east, Front Street in the West, and Washington Avenue in its south and Spring Garden Street in the North. Penn’s Landing Corporation looks after the tourism development in this area. It is a non-profit organization, established in 1970 to manage and supervise this central waterfront area of the City of Philadelphia.
Several historic ships have docked at Penn's Landing. USS Olympia and the famous USS Becuna, which are exhibited at the Independence Seaport Museum have docket in this famous waterfront. The RiverLink Ferry service connects Penn's Landing with the Camden and New Jersey waterfront. Penn's Landing in Philadelphia has been marked for its quality programs and year-round events. Events at Penn's Landing
- Sippin by the River is the signature event of this waterfront locality. It is a wine and beer-tasting event organized for the benefit the ground of Philadelphia chapter in the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Tickets are priced around $40 at the gate and $30 if purchased in advance. Age proof is required to participate in this event to verify whether the participant has

attained the drinking age. No re entry is considered once the participant leaves. Photography or backpacks are prohibited at Sippin' by the River. Parking is available at various locations of Penn's Landing parking lots. The events take place between 1:00PM to 5:00PM. Many entertaining live shows and cooking demonstrations are organized during this event.
- Blue Cross RiverRink – It is located at the Columbus Blvd. at Market Street. It is a skating destination, costing around $6 per session. Skating lessons are given every Sunday from 10:30 am to noon. The program is conducted for 6 weeks and advance reservations cost $90.00 per applicant. There is an ATM within the heated pavilion. Private parties are allowed during any public skating sessions, with a minimum of 10 guests.
