Mutter Museum is located on19 South 22nd Street in Philadelphia. Mutter Museum is housed in the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, which was established 1787.
Visitors at Mutter Museum need to follow certain instructions. Large bags, food or drink are not allowed in the museum. Mobile phones should be kept in the silent mode and are not supposed to be used inside the galleries. The general visitors, excluding filmmakers and scholars, are not allowed to take photographs of Mutter Museum.
The opening hours of Mutter Museum are 10 AM to 5 PM from Monday to Thursday and again on Saturday and Sunday. The museum is open from 10 AM to 9 PM

on Friday. It remains closed on 24th and 25th December, Thanksgiving Day and New Year's Day.
Collections of Mutter Museum
The earliest collection, was presented in 1858 by Thomas Dent Mütter, who was a medical Professor at Jefferson Medical College. Currently, the collection has exceeded 20,000 objects related to the medical world. The significant objects are various pathological and anatomical specimens that are preserved in fluids, medical tools, dried and skeletal specimens and various models in wax, plaster, plastic and papier-mâché. The other items displayed in the museum are memorabilia of eminent physicians and scientists as well as medical sketches, prints, photographs and portraits. Various interesting exhibitions on a range of historical and medical topics are also organized in the museum.
