Minneapolis is a city in the U.S state of Minnesota. Since it was the leading grain producer in the world till1932, it was known by the title "milling capital of the world". During the Civil War Minneapolis grew rapidly and became a city in 1867. It is the county seat of Hennepin County. The city is now the largest city in Minnesota.



Area & Location:Sits along the Mississippi River in the southeast portion of the state, the city is located at 44°58'48.36? Latitude North and 93°15'6.72? Longitude West. The city covers a total area of 151.3 sq. km with 142.2 sq. km of land and 9.1 sq. km of water. Having a population of 382,618, the city is the 47th-largest city in the United States.
