Memphis is the most rapidly progressing urban cities of U.S and has all the facilities required in modern world. Memphis International Airport has been providing quality air service for decades now.

The fledgling aviation industry became the talk of the town when pro-aviation candidate Watkins Overton was elected the mayor of Memphis, in 1927. He kept his promise to name a municipal Airport Planning Commission. The Memphis Municipal Airport consisting of three hangars and a sod field runway was dedicated on June 15, 1929. By the following year, the airport had 15 passengers arriving and departing via American Airways and Chicago & Southern Airlines. The airport built a new terminal in 1938 and another one in 1963. The airport's name was changed to Memphis International Airport in 1969. In the same year, the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority was created to plan and direct the future of Memphis aviation.
