Lowell, a city with century old history behind it is located at the confluence of two main rivers of United States called Merrimack and Concord. Lowell is now a part of the Middlesex County located in the state of Massachusetts . As this city is situated in the east coast of United States, it was witness to the growth of United States as the first set of immigrants from across the Atlantic had set their base here.
The growth of textile industry in the 19 th century has led many historians to call Lowell the birthplace of Industrial Revolution in America. After a century, in between two world wars, the fortunes of the city fell significantly and it is not until very recent years that it has began to regain its past glory.
