Lansing is the capital of the state of Michigan and is situated in the county of Ingham. Since Lancing is a capital city, it is developed in almost all aspect of life. There are good schools, colleges, university, governmental offices, industries and many interesting travel or tourist destinations in Lansing.
Lansing has an interesting history of its own. This town was set up through an episode of cheating and fraud. Two brothers sold many plots of this city in the first half of the nineteenth century to some residents of Lansing in New York. But these plots did not have any existence since the area was totally submerged and was under water. When that fraud was discovered the unfortunate people settled down in the area near by.
Later, gradually with the transfer of capital of Michigan from Detroit to this place gave it importance and population increased along with other developments.

In today's Lansing there are almost all facility that a modern day metropolitan city should have in it. Lansing is the seat of many important government offices and several other industries. With lots of Medical, Nursing, Law colleges and the State university that is the Michigan State University , the educational field of Lansing is also very promising. Lansing has several public schools and community colleges also. But the most important pillar in the city of Lansing is perhaps hold by the Michigan Sate University which is internationally acclaimed.
Apart from education, Lansing offers its people innumerable opportunities of enjoyment through various festivals and programs. Lansing has several musical bands and festivals. Apart from these the zoo, museums, theater and many other travel destinations has made Lansing a good travel destination also.
With all these and many other interesting aspects and features, Lansing is really an appropriate city to be considered as Michigan's capital.
