Kansas is a fascinating state to visit. The counties and cities have various unparallel sights to offer. Manhattan, for example, home to Kansas State University, is a charming, fairly liberal place with plenty of tree-lined streets, bookstores, parks, and the rolling plains. Many historical sites in Kansas are also worth a stopover. They include the John Brown Museum, Native American Heritage Museum, and the Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site.

Abilene

The Eisenhower Presidential Library & Museum is the most important attraction in Abilene. The Greyhound Hall of Fame across the street from the Eisenhower complex has a free access. Also famous are Abilene's great restaurants and the Russell Stover Candies store.

Leavenworth

The historic Fort Leavenworth is the oldest active army post west of Mississipi. Other attractions include a ride on a 1913 carousel at the C W Parker Carousel Museum. Chapel of the Veterans made of bricks and sand stone is worth a visit.

Alta Vista

The Ag Heritage Park is a museum of sorts. Over 400 agricultural implements, plus household memorabilia are displayed at the museum.

Argonia

Rocketeers meet to launch high powered rockets several times a year. It has been featured on the Discovery Channel.

Lecompton

Founded by 1854 by pro slavery Missourians, Lecompton was intended to become the state capital. Places to visit are the Constitution Hall and Lane University & Territorial Capital Museum.

Atchison

Atchiso is the most haunted town in Kansas. Those interested in the super natural need to visit the place. Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum is another major attraction.

Atwood

The Rawlins County Museum depicts rural Kansas history.

Liberal

The major attraction here is the Mid-America Air Museum. It displays over 100 aircraft. The 1,268 feet long “Samson of the Cimarron” railroad bridge and its picnic area are a few miles east of town.

Louisburg

Here one can find a Cedar Cove Feline Conservatory & Sanctuary. It is open to the public on Saturdays only. There are Lions, Tigers, and Caracals to see.
