Mass Transit: The roads in Indianapolis are infamously confusing. Visitors to the city would do best to remember that the city layout is based on a huge circle. In fact, a famous saying in Indianapolis is "If you find yourself on the same street twice, you are lost." The public transportation authority of Indianapolis is called Indygo. It operates buses on 28 routes, using 130 vehicles for fixed route service and 50 vans for open door service. It also offers a free downtown bus service called Blueline. There are no trains operating within the city, although Amtrak runs services from Indianapolis to a number of other US cities.
