Houston is a lively, modern and vivacious city located in the southern corner of Texas. The city of Houston is one of the largest in the Untied States and also in the world. The city took its name from General Sam Houston, the first president of the Republic of Texas. Houston has a long, well established presence in the commercial world dating back to the 19th century. Visitors to Houston should make it a point to visit the Natural Science museum and Herman Park where the Houston Zoo is located. The JP Morgan Chase Tower which highlights the skyline of Houston is the tallest building in Texas. A favorite pass time for both residents and visitors to the city is to go out for family fun in the downtown aquarium and the memorial park.
