Grand Junction is a city in the U.S. state of Colorado. The city's name has been derived from "Grand" which has reference to the historical name of the upper Colorado River. It is the principal city of the Grand Junction and the county seat of Mesa County.
Area & Location: Located along the north side of the Colorado River, Grand Junction lies between 39°3'1.91? Latitude North and 108°33'33? Longitude West. Sits 20 miles east of the Utah State Line on Interstate 70, the city covers a total area of 80.5 sq. km with 79.8 sq. km of land and 0.7 sq. km of water. It is about 4,800 feet above sea level. Around 41,986 people reside in the city in a density of 526.2 per sq. km.
