Area & Location: Lies in the western part of the State of Maryland, Frederick is located at 39º25'35" Latitude North and 77º25'13" Longitude West. The city covers a total area of 52.9 sq. km. It has a population of 57,009 with a density of 997.7per sq. km.

The gorgeous examples of 18th and 19th century architectures can also be found here. The city is also home to a number of outdoor activities and attractions such as Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo, 90 parks and three covered bridges. Many markets, antique shops and art galleries include the entertainment centers in the city.
