Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Eureka Springs is a city in the US state of Arkansas. The city known for its miraculous healing water was transformed into a developing city later. Because of this, people from various parts of the world migrated into the city increasing its population. In February 1880 Eureka Springs was incorporated as a city and by 1881 it started enjoying the status of the fourth largest city in the state. Soon the city established itself as one of the premier vacation resorts of the Victorian era. It is now one of the two county seats f Carroll County.

Area & Location: Located in the Ozark Mountains of northwest Arkansas, Eureka Springs is situated at 36º24'11? Latitude North and 93º44'18? Longitude West. The city occupies a total area of 17.9 sq. km with 17.6 sq. km of land and 0.4 sq. km of water.

Tourist Attractions: With its various festivals and historical places, the city has become a very popular tourist destination in the state.

Transportation: Carroll County Airport is the main airport that serves the city. The huge bus and subway transit system is a form of public transportation in the city. Eureka Springs Trolly Service is yet another means of commutation in the city. Taxis, rental cars are also available in the city. The city has wide road network and it is the only city in North America where none of the streets meet at right angles.
