Dover International Speedway is a two folded racing track. In the inside of the International Speedway there is a horse racing track and on the outer side there is the famous car racing track. Dover International Speedway was inaugurated in the year 1969 and from then onwards it has gone through several modifications. Dover International Speedway has a nickname also. ' The Monster Mile' is another name for Dover International Speedway which is indicative of the tough challenge that it throws out to the racing car participants.
Dover International Speedway now can accommodate approximately 1,40,000 visitors. Its racing track is made of concrete replacing the previous asphalt track. Moreover, Dover International Speedway has a luxury suite for a limited visitors. This luxury suite is superiorly built compared with any other luxury suites in any other professional sport stadiums in USA. This suite in the Dover International Speedway is called the 'Monster Bridge' according to the nickname of the racing track, 'The Monster Mile' . All these beautifications and modifications of Dover International Speedway began in and after 1982 and the racing track was also made bigger with addition of new seats each year.

Dover International Speedway is very famous racing track in the US. On its opening day the famous car racer Richard Petty inaugurated it by winning a race in this track . That race is famously known as Mason Dixon 300. Among the other famous racer who increase the fame of Dover International Speedway , are, Bobby Allison, Cale Yarborough, Benny Parsons, David Pearson and Darell Waltrip. The names of these famous car races along with others show very well that winning a car race in Dover International Speedway is a very tough challenge. In the year 1997, to make the challenge of the car races a little endurable a modification was done. The limit of the car race was decreased from 500 to 400 in the Cup Races.

Moreover, the government sanctioned casino of Dover is also situated near the Monster Mile which also provides ample opportunity to the visitors to enjoy themselves.
