Dallas World Aquarium features saltwater exhibits. It involves a spine chilling walk among the marine life. What is most exciting is to find animals at the top of the food chain just inches away. From the hammerhead sharks to the Lionfish one can find it all in the enclosure. To see the giant teeth of the predator in real life is a petrifying experience. For jaw dropping excitement, the best time to visit is during feeding time. After the raw excitement of the predator exhibit one can stroll through ten 2,000-gallon habitats with marine life from all over the world. The range of locations encompasses marine life from four continents and three oceans. While in the aquarium one can travel to Fiji and spy on the Pink skunk clownfish, Squamosa clams and Lyretail anthias or go to the Palau section and watch with wonder the Moon jellyfish or swim over to the Bahamas to see the Porcupine puffer fish and stand witness to how they blow themselves up to that unbelievable extent. The visit includes the waters of southern Australia, British Colombia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Japan.
The Dallas World Aquarium also has a large collection of freshwater fish, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. Rare sea dragons, giant clams and endangered sea turtles are but a few of the intriguing animals on display.
The out door exhibit resembling South Africa houses plants and animals of the area. There is also a lagoon like exhibit featuring black footed penguins.
The Dallas World Aquarium is also committed to a number of conservation programs. They include:
- It participates in US fish and wildlife cooperative breeding program
- It participates in the butterfly conservative initiative.
- Project sea house is a conservation project for sea horses undertaken by Dallas World Aquarium.
- The Dallas World Aquarium is providing funding for and construction of a Marine Mammal Rehabilitation Center in Venezuela.
