Branson, Missouri

Branson is a city in the U.S state of Missouri. It was named after Rueben Branson, postmaster in the area in the 1880s. The city evolved into a resort community catering to the growing number of tourists. It is a city in Taney County.

Area & Location: Located in southwest Missouri, 35 miles south of Springfield within the heart of the Ozark Mountains, Branson lies between 36º38'16? Latitude North and 93º15'18? Longitude West. It occupies a total area of 42.3 sq. km with 41.9 sq. km of land and 0.4 sq. km of water. It has a population of 6,050 with a density of 144.4 per sq. km.

Tourist Attractions: The tri-lakes in the area draws in around 65,000 visitors daily.
