Established in 1939, Bowling Green Technical College in Kentucky is a premier institute giving quality technical education and awarding associate degrees to its students. Bowling Green Technical College was first set up under the joint sponsorship of the Western Kentucky State Teachers College and National Youth Administration. The present Bowling Green Technical College was originally named the Western Trade School and this institute mainly served as the training ground of National Youth Administration, imparting technical education to industrial workers. During World War II Bowling Green Technical College also trained army personnel.
With the passing of a bill in 1962 in the Kentucky General Assembly, Bowling Green Technical College was renamed the Western Area Vocational School and it came out of the affiliation of Western Kentucky University. Finally with the passage of the Post-Secondary Education Improvement Act in the year 1997, Bowling Green Technical College got its present name and it became a part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.
Bowling Green Technical College offers two-year college degrees and also associate degrees. There are also certificate courses for less than four years courses, for less than two years courses and also for courses that lasts for less than one year.
