As the house belongs to Rose Standish Nicholas, the multifaceted woman, collection of her wood work and needle work adorn the beauty of the museum. The Nichols House Museum in Boston speaks a lot about the life of the great woman. In those days women were mostly married and had to look after their family and children. But this lady stood out of the crowd and became the first landscape designer of her times. She also wrote three books and fifty articles on landscaping designing of European style.
Presently lectures are held on Rose and her family. In 2004 a program was inaugurated to throw light on the life of the Nicholas family.
