Boston has a rich and varied cultural life. The roots of Boston culture can be traced back to greater New England. The colorful culture of Boston is reflected in the city's dialect, performing arts, visual art and events. The Irish Americans have cast a major influence on various aspects of Boston culture. The cultural life of the city is dependent upon colleges, museum and libraries. Culture of Boston is essentially an 'urban university culture'.
