The district allocates some $3,608 per year on the education of each student.


  • Shelby County School District: Schools in this district provide the student population with education right from the kindergarten level to the 12 th standard. The teacher student ratio here is 1:15.2 and the total number of students partaking education from this district is 20,768. About 34 schools serve the students with education in this district. Educational expenses offered per student here each year is $3,840.


  • Vestavia Hills City School District: This school district serves around 4544 of the total student population in Birmingham. With some 6 schools under its administration, it has about some 301 full-time teachers. The teacher student ratio here is 15.1:1 and the district allocates about $4223 per student for educational purposes each year.


  • Alabama Youth Services: Though not a very good option for high school education yet, the district is well capable of providing good elementary and middle school education. The total student population here is 624 in the 4 schools that serve this schooling district.
