The Baton Rouge Community College was found on 25 th of June 1995.The campus is spread on a large area encompassing almost 60 acres of land. At present Baton Rouge Community College has student strength of 6000 approximately. The Baton Rouge Community College features five main buildings inclusive of Governors Building, Louisiana Building, Cypress Building, Bienvenue Building (student center), and the Magnolia Library Building.
The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has recognized the Baton Rouge Community College to award Associate Degrees and Certificates. The college's 504/ADA Compliance Officer is the Director of Disability Services to provide assistance to the disabled students. The Community College is also the member of Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS)
Baton Rouge Community College provides admissions to all the students without the discrimination of race, religion, sex, nationality, age, physical disability, marital or veteran status. It follows an open admission policy for all its programs. All the individuals who are eighteen years of age or older, those who have attained the General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or have graduated of a high school approved by the state are eligible to take admission in the Baton Rouge Community College . The high school students with a minimum age of sixteen have the facility to get simultaneous enrollment in maximum two courses on the bases of their high school marks. To get enrolled in any of the Baton Rouge Community College education programs it is compulsory for the students to attend the Student Orientation sessions scheduled in the semester calendar of the college.
