The Bangor International Airport is one of the important airports in Maine. Formerly known as the Dow Air Force Base, the Bangor Maine Airport is not just a major eastern Airport but also a refueling station for international flights out of the US. The airport is famous for it's runway, which is 11,439 feet wide!
The Bangor Maine Airport has a domestic and an international terminal located on two levels:
- The first level houses the domestic terminal and offers passengers a host of amenities like customer service counters, car rental counters, airline flight information, baggage claim counters and restrooms.
- The second level houses both a portion of the domestic terminal and the international terminal; it offers conveniences like restrooms, dining facilities like the Coffee Shop, and a lounge and pub called the Red Baron; last minute shopping can be done at The Grasshopper Shop and the Bangor News and Gifts Stores. The international terminal also features a transit lounge that can seat 450 passengers, a duty-free shop and a Hall of Flags.
