Augusta is a city located in the state of Georgia, USA about 150 miles east of Atlanta. Augusta is the second largest city and second largest metropolitan area in Georgia. The Augusta city was originally named in honor of Augusta, the Princess of Wales. Augusta has two airports . Namely:

  • Augusta Regional Airport, and
  • Augusta State Airport.

Augusta Regional Airport is a municipal airport. It is located 6 miles south of Augusta, Georgia. This airport is also known as Augusta Regional Airport at Bush Field .

This airport is publicly possessed by City of Augusta. In 2000, the name of the Bush Field airport has been changed and it became Augusta Regional Airport. The Augusta Regional Airport in Augusta is currently undergoing a major extension and renovation project to attract more airlines. The new look of this airport also prevents travelers from driving to the Columbia or Atlanta airports.

Augusta Regional Airport at Bush Field includes 1,411 acres and has two runways and 4 air lines. Namely:

  • Delta Air Lines
  • Delta Connection operated by Atlantic Southeast Airlines
  • US Airways
  • US Airways Express operated by Piedmont Airlines.

Augusta State Airport

Augusta State Airport is a public airport located one mile northwest of Augusta. The airport is owned by the State of Maine, but managed and operated by the City of Augusta. The Augusta Airport plays a vital role in connecting Augusta to other Maine locations and to the Northeast. Augusta State Airport covers 350 acres of land and has two runways.
