The Durutti Column is a music band based in Manchester found in 1978. The band comprises guitarist and pianist - Vini Reilly with his companion drummer Bruce Mitchell. Their music is characterized as the chilling genre of electronic music. Both the musicians had a great reputation in their respective fields and thus built this promising band, creating outstanding music.
Birth of the Durutti Column
The Durutti Column music band came with a great hit album 'Obey The Time' under the label of Factory Records in the nineties. In 1994, Factory Records was revived as Factory Too and Vini Reilly, and Durutti Column was one among the first groups that worked under the new record label. By the end of the decade, the Factory closed and Vini quit all the contracts with Factory and Tony Wilson. The following years proved to be a turning point in Vini Reilly's life, when he produced some of the most creative music and lyrics. At the end of 2004, Durutti Column signed a new deal with F4 or the fourth generation of Factory Records.
Musical Works of The Durutti Column

The first album, The Return of the Durutti Column was released in1980 and it was a collection of works by Reilly and producer Martin Hannett. The record comprised nine smooth guitar instrumentals. The music elements ranged from jazz, classical to folk and rock. The Durutti Column albums include Dry (1991), Lips That Would Kiss (1991) – a collection of early singles and Red Shoes (1992).
