Since its inception the aim of Manchester Pride has been to raise funds for the communities of lesbians, gays, transgenders, bisexuals and AIDS/ HIV patients. From 2003 to 2006 Manchester Pride Limited worked in collaboration with Operation Fundraiser, which is a joint fund-raising body for George House Trust and the Lesbian and Gay Foundation. The body has been able to raise more than £450,000. This money has been distributed to more than 100 bisexual, lesbian, gay and transgender communities, charities and AIDS/HIV groups in the region of Greater Manchester. The money is also used for the Manchester Pride event. In 2007 the event raised £95,000 for the purpose of charity.
The forthcoming Manchester Pride festival is to be held from 15th to 25th August in 2008.
