Paul Hall


Paul Hall is an English born footballer of Jamaican origin. Presently, he plays for Wrexham in League Two. Paul Anthony Hall is a striker who also plays on the right wing. He was born on 3 July 1972 in Manchester, England.

Career of Paul Hall

Paul Hall started his career as an amateur player, playing for Torquay United. He turned into a professional footballer on 9 July 1990. Though he made his league debut in the previous season. He initially played as a winger, and made 93 league appearances, before being transferred to Portsmouth at £70,000 on 25 March 1993.

Paul Hall spent five seasons playing for Fratton Park and later for his excellent performances he received a call to play for the 1998 FIFA World Cup from the Jamaica National Football Team. At the 1998 FIFA World Cup, Hall gave some extraordinary performances and later on shifted to Coventry City for a fee of £300,000. He joined Bury on loan on 18 February 1999 and again he came back to Highfield Road and struggled for a first team place. On the next season on 17 December 1999 he moved to Sheffield United on loan and to West Bromwich Albion on 10 February 2000.

Hall left Highfield Road on 17 March 2000, and joined Walsall on loan until the end of the season. During the summers, he joined the Saddlers on a free transfer permanently. He played a very important role and helped the club to gain promotion to Division One. He then joined Queens Park Rangers, but again returned to Walsall.

He signed with Rushden & Diamonds on 10 October 2001. Hall spent 3 seasons with Rushden & Diamonds during which he made 112 appearances and scored 26 goals. He made an excellent performance in the Division Three play-off final and scored a superb solo goal. When Rushden offloaded several players due to financial problems, he joined Tranmere Rovers and played 55 games scoring 13 goals.

For the season 2005–06, Hall joined Chesterfield for free and he was the top scorer with 15 goals to his credit in 47 leagues. Hall again returned to his former club Walsall on 4 June 2007. Finally, he joined League Two strugglers Wrexham on 11 January 2008.

Paul Hall is a footballer who has played for a number of clubs like Rushden & Diamonds, Chesterfield, Walsall, Fratton Park and presently he is with Wrexham.
