Joseph Holts Brewery is a family-run business established in the year 1849. Better known as Joseph Holt's Derby Brewery, Joseph Holts is among the most popular small breweries in Manchester, reputed for producing lagers, beers and ales.
Brief Evolution of Joseph Holts Brewery
Ever since the establishment of Joseph Holt's Derby Brewery, the company flourished quite fast with the increase in production under the able guidance of its founder, Joseph Holt. Soon Joseph Holts became one of the renowned Manchester companies for producing excellent alcohol in terms of the quality and taste. Under the ownership of Edward, Holt's son and successor, the company expanded and 20 more alcohol producing units were opened and the production capacity of the plants simultaneously increased. Installation of a bottling line in 1901 boosted up the production to as many as 40,000 alcohol barrels. In 1922, Joseph Holt's Derby Brewery became a Limited company and
in 1951 it transformed itself into a Public Limited Company. Today, there are a total of 127 Joseph Holt units, out of which 93% are

company-owned. All the units of Joseph Holt are situated within a radius of 25 miles within Greater Manchester.
Joseph Holts Products
Beer is one of the principal products of Joseph Holts Brewery. Here, beer manufacturing involves a series of careful processes like purchasing of malts, fermenting them through highly technological system, allowing the fermented liquid to settle naturally and packing them for commercial distribution. Both Bitter and Mild beers are produced here, packed in casks. HoltFifth Sense, Maple, Sixex, Moon, Thunder, Touchwood and Humdinger are among the best quality beers produced by Joseph Holts.
Apart from beer manufacturing the other products of Joseph Holts include scrumptious snacks served at the taverns owned by the company.
