Southbank Attractions
The Southbank area of London is a postwar creation. The area was known as Lambeth Marsh and Lower Marsh before the Second World War. The London area was subjected to urban regeneration projects in the 1950's. Further impetus to development was provided by the 1951 Festival of Britain.
