Highbury is included in London Borough of Islington. As per history, Highbury was included in the larger manor of Tolentone that has been mentioned in the Domesday Book. By the year 1794, Highbury Hill House, Highbury House
and Highbury Barn got included in Highbury. The Arsenal Stadium was also located at Highbury which was the previous address of Arsenal football club. The Arsenal football club presently shifted to a new stadium close to Ashburton Grove.
During the period of 1870s, the southern part of the town was thronged with villas built in the Italian style. Large-scale renovation took place at Highbury after the end of the Second World War. The population of Highbury as recorded in the census of the year 2001 was 21,959.
