The submarine was 15.62 meters long and had a height of 4.57 meters. The weight of the submarine was about 18 tons. Yellow Submarine was made of steel and incorporated a duplicate control room equipped with original submarine machineries and apparatus. The outer side of the submarine was tinted in a bright yellow color. The spiral staircases extending to the bridge of the garden offered the visitors with a spectacular view of the entire garden area. The entrance way was designed at the side of the Submarine.
The location of Yellow Submarine
The Yellow submarine was placed at the Chavasse Park for several years after the garden festival ended. As Chavasse Park is an open park area in the down town of Liverpool, the Yellow Submarine was prominently noticeable by the people coming to the downtown from the southern region. Being placed for some years in Chavasse Park, the submarine gradually lost its glow but ultimately was refurbished and in the year 2005 was positioned at Liverpool Airport.
