The Sudley House in Liverpool is a part of the National Museums group. This group of museums accounts for those museums which are located outside London. The history of the Sudley House dates back to the initial years of the 19th century. The property changed hands quite a few times till it was finally acquired by George Holt. Holt brought about several changes in the property. Even today, Sudley still retains some of its erstwhile Victorian characteristics. It houses a rare and singular merchant art collection in the whole of Britain.

The Sudley House displays items belonging to the Holt family. There are separate rooms that house a unique collection of Victorian dolls and ones which house costumes of the contemporary times. One of the temporary exhibition galleries at the Sudley House is named as Merchant Palaces. It houses a rare collection of photographs of mansions which are located in and around Liverpool, and date back from the Victorian and Edwardian times to the present days.
Sudley House Timings
Entry to the Sudley House is absolutely free. It is open for public viewing throughout the week from 10am in the morning to 5pm in the evening. On Sunday, however, it opens a couple of hours later at 12 noon.
