Russell Churney: his early life
Russell Churney, the great English music director was born at Liverpool on 10th September 1964 to a Ukrainian Jewish Family. Churney was undoubtedly imparted with an unmatched genius, which helped him to prove his excellence in several musical streams. Apart from being a renowned music director, Russell is highly popular as an arranger, wonderful composer and distinguished pianist. Churney received his education initially from Merchant Taylor's School of Great Crosby and then from Trinity College, Cambridge.

Seven glorious years of Churney's career passed in performing with great comedian, Julian Clary. During his association with Clary, Churney traveled extensively. He took a significant part in a popular Channel 4 TV series called 'Sticky Moments with Julian Cary'. Apart from Julian Cary, famous singer Barb Jungr also accompanied him on this show. Churney's memorable performances
Amongst Churney's most popular album, 'Durga Rising' was recorded in 1997. In 2003, he conceptualized and performed in 'Darkness and Disgrace: Travels with a Wild-Eyed Alien from Bromley' with Des de Moor which was a show based on the songs of David Bowie. Churney as a pianist
As pianist and music director, Churney also proved his unmatched skills in several shows like 'Portrait in Song' along with Elizabeth Mansfield, 'Straker Sings Brel' with Peter Straker and 'Back with you' with Dillie Keane.
Russell was suffering from pancreatic cancer and passed away on 27th February, 2007 at the age of 42. His death brought an irreplaceable void in the world of contemporary western music.
