The Liverpool John Moores University was known as the Liverpool Mechanics School of Art at the time of its foundation in 1825. With time the University collaborated with a number of other institutions and came to be known as the Liverpool Polytechnique. The transformation of this reputed educational institution to a full fledged University came about in 1992. The name then changed to Liverpool John Moores University.
Over the years, the University graduated into one of the premier educational institutions in the country. At present it boasts of almost 24,000 students.
