Liverpool government functions for the betterment of the city in all aspects.
Functioning within the framework of the constitutional monarchy of England, Liverpool government works for the progress and development of the city. The city of Liverpool comprises of five parliamentary constituencies which are Liverpool Riverside, Liverpool Garston, Liverpool Wavetree, Liverpool Walton and Liverpool West Derby. Each constituency functions under a Member of Parliament.

City Council- the chief administrative body
The administrative body of Liverpool is the City Council. Headed by the Mayor and comprising of 90 Councilors, the City Council supervises the development of the city in various aspects like economy, education, infrastructure and so on. Various committees have been formed to look after the different departments dividing the responsibilities amongst all members.
The Members of the European Parliament represent a particular region. Liverpool is represented by the MEPs of the North West.
