Goodison Park is the official home ground of the Everton Football Club of Liverpool. The stadium is located on the Goodison Road in Liverpool city and is about 4kms north of the city centre. The Goodison Park ground was officially opened on 24 August, 1892. The Goodison Park is one of the oldest football grounds in the world and was in fact the first big football stadium in entire England. The ground has a maximum capacity of occupying up to 42, 200 people at one single point of time. The ground witnessed the highest attendance of 78, 299 people in 1948, in an Everton-Liverpool F.C. match.

The Goodison Park is very well-connected to all parts of the city. From the northern and southern directions, one can take the M6 highway and after taking an exit to the junction 26 they can follow the M 57 highway and follow the lane along Queen’s Drive to reach the Goodison Road. From the east one can take the M62 highway and from the west one can avail the M53 highway to reach the Goodison road. If one wishes to take the bus route he can avail the buses 1, 2, 20, 19, 311, 345 and 350 from the city centre and reach Goodison Park. The Liverpool John Lennon Airport is located at a distance of 16kms from the ground.
Guided tours of the Goodison Park stadium are available which span for about 75 minutes and charge up to £8.50. The usual ticket rates range from £24.00 to £30.00.
