The history of the Liverpool F.C. dates back to the year 1892 when this club was set up. The club was set up by the efforts of John Houlding, the then Mayor of Liverpool, who forced Everton F C to leave the Anfield stadium and established the Liverpool F.C. on 15 March, 1892. After entering the Football League in mid-February of 1900-1901 season, the Liverpool F.C. lost 8 games and winning the championship looked like a far-fetched dream but this was proved wrong when Liverpool F.C. won a series of nine matches. The first match at the Wembley ground against the Arsenal Football Club was lost by Liverpool F.C. and the dream of winning the FA Cup was also blurred.
December 1959, was a remarkable period for Liverpool Football Clubs history since Bill Shankly joined the club as the new manager and reshaped the entire team.Under Shanklys able guidance, Liverpool F.C. won the Second Division Championship match and got promoted to the First Division.They won their first league Championship in the year 1963-64 and their first UEFA Cup in 1972-73.
