The world famous Everton Football Club of Liverpool makes its first debut in the basketball arena with the launch of its basketball counterpart, Everton Tigers.
Everton Tigers is one of the basketball teams based in the city of Liverpool, England. The Everton Tigers team has been launched in June 2007, and is a joint venture between Everton FC and Toxteth Tigers Junior basketball club.
Everton Tigers Team
This is a new venture of the Everton Football Club and the players have been gathered from Merseyside and overseas. This basketball team has planned to make its debut at the 2007 British Basketball League. Henry Mooney has been appointed to the post of the official coach. This team is one-of-a-kind since Liverpool does not officially have a professional basketball team.
Everton Tigers’ Ground
The Everton Tigers would be using the Greenbank Academy in Sefton Park, Liverpool as their official home ground. The stadium has a capacity for accommodating 500 spectators; however, the team soon plans to shift their base to Liverpool Echo Arena, which has a capacity of 100,000.

First victory of Everton Tigers
The Everton Tigers have secured their first victory in the British Basketball League by defeating the current champions Guilford Heat by scoring 91 against 80. Chris Haslam alone scored 25 points.
